Feature Request / Important Legal Requirement: Logic for the Expiration Date of German Vouchers (End of Year + 3 Years)

Hello BookingPress Support Team,

I am using your gift voucher add-on on my WordPress website in Germany.

Germany has very strict federal laws regarding the validity and expiration of paid gift vouchers (in accordance with Sections 195 and 199 of the German Civil Code/BGB).

Legal Requirement:
By law, a paid voucher must be valid for three full years. Importantly, the validity period does not begin on the date of purchase, but rather at the end of the calendar year in which the voucher was purchased (December 31st).

Example of legal implementation:
If a customer purchases a gift card on May 15, 2026, the three-year validity period officially begins on December 31, 2026.

Therefore, the voucher must remain valid until December 31, 2029.

Problem:
BookingPress currently only allows for setting a fixed validity duration (e.g., "36 months" from the purchase date). If a voucher is purchased in May, it expires 36 months later in May. Under German law, this is too early and poses a high risk of legal warnings and lawsuits for business owners.

Question/Feature Request:
Is there currently a hidden setting, a filter, or a way to force gift cards to expire on December 31st of the third year following the purchase?

If not, please forward this to your development team as an urgent feature request for a future update—for example, by adding an option under "Expiration Type" such as: "End of purchase year + X years."

This feature is crucial for all your customers doing business in Germany, Austria, and parts of the EU.

Thank you very much for your excellent support. We look forward to hearing from you!
